Happy new year 2022

    Dear contributors,

Fédération France Orchidées (FFO) and the Orchisauvage administration team - Jean-Michel HERVOUET (Presidency), Jacques BRY (cartography), Françoise PEYRISSAT (editing) and Pierre-Michel BLAIS (contact mail) - wish you all the best for 2022  and wonderful discoveries  that you can share on our site.

2021 was a very fruitful year on Orchisauvage with 153,000 new data – an all-time record since the launch of the site and a 22% increase from the previous record of 2019 - which brings the total number of data to 900,000.

Memberships have reached 4,582 with 587 new registrations in 2021 – a 3% increase since the previous record in 2018.

We would like to thank you for your involvement. Your contributions are essential to develop a better understanding of orchids and their conservation. We are counting on your continued support for 2022.

This will be an essential year for cartography because towards the end of the year the FFO will publish a new encyclopaedia including distribution maps updated with all your data.

In the meantime we encourage you to have a look at our current maps in the Data by species/Geographic distribution section of the site and then visit areas where data is missing or insufficient . Our team of cartographers and validation experts will help you in your queries.
